The death is announced, after a long illness, of Mr. Wm. Diprose, on the 29th ult.
Born in the year 1865, Mr Diprose spent the best part of his life in Southwark. He was closely identified in his early days with the work carried onfor many years at the old Lambeth Baths by the late Rev. George Murphy, and was also interested inother ofrms of temperance work. A sturdy Radicalof the old type, he took a keen interest in the work of the South-East Southwark Liberal and Radical Association, being a member of the ExecutiveCommittee and Political Council. He contributed to the "South London Press" many free criticisms of people and public bodies above the pen name of"Viator".
The funeral took place on Friday, amongst those following being Mrs Diprose, widow, his five daughters and four sons-in-law, Mr George H. Shaw(representing Commander J. Arthur Dawes, M.P.) and Mr A.E. Dear (representing the Executive Committee). Wreaths were sent from Commander J.A. Dawes,M.P., the Executive Committee, and many friends and members of the family.
