PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONCERTS
AT BROMLEY COMMON.


An interesting programme was given at the Primitive Methodist Hall, Bromley Common, on Saturday by Mrs. Collier’s Concert Party from St. Mary Cray, when the following artists took part: Miss Philpott and Mrs. Hawkings, solos; Mr. A. Hunt, monologues; Mr. H. Onley, violin solos. Humorous items were given by Mr. and Mrs. Collier and were also much appreciated. Miss Beckie Collier was the accompanist for the evening.

Baptist Church.

On Saturday an interesting concert was given in the Baptist schoolroom by Mrs. Collier’s party, in aid of the gymnasium funds. Mr. Wild presided. Mr. Hunt gave monologues. Miss Philpott and Mr. Hawkings in their songs were much appreciated. Mr. C. Fife’s violin solos were excellenty rendered and popular. Mrs. Collier’s humorous Cockney items were greatly enjoyed. Miss Beckie Collier was the accompanist, and her pianoforte solo, “Sleep and the Roses,” was encored. Mr. Collier gave humorous songs and all the artistes were recalled. At the close Mrs. Collier was presented with a beautiful bouquet by Miss. M. Longhurst.

FARNBOROUGH.


CONCERT AT THE INSTITUTION.

The Orpington Railwaymen’s Prize Band visited the Farnborough Institution on Thursday evening of last week, and carried through an excellent programme. Mr. A. Booker sang; the Misses Double gave pianoforte music and Mr. C. Fife played the violin; Mr. Collier contributed monologues; and Mr. Vernon Morris proved himself a clever female impersonator. Mr. A. F. Swindon also took part in the entertainment, and amusing stump speeches were given by Mr. Ellard. A cornet duet was admirably played by Messrs. Baker and Gray.

The master of the Institution, in a brief speech, thanked the band and their conductor, as well as the other artists, for their excellent entertainment.

On Saturday evening Mrs. Collier and party from St. Mary Cray were responsible for the programme at the Bromley Common Primitive Methodist Church, the following artists giving their services: Miss Philpot and Mr. Hawkings (songs), Mrs. Collier and Mr. Hunt (monologues), Mr. W. and Mss Collier *recidations), and Mr. and Mrs. Collier (coster sketch and humorous songs).

The accompanists were Miss Collier and Mr. Hawkings. The items were well sustained and the artists recalled.
