SCOUTS’ CONCERT AT ST. MARY CRAY.


A successful concert was given at the Church Hall, St. Mary Cray, on the 23rd ult., by members of the 1st St. Mary Cray Boy Scouts and their friends. The event was supported by a large attendance, and the programme provided good entertainment and real amusement.

The contributions to the programme were as follows: Pianoforte solo, Miss Collier; songs, “Happy Summer Song,” “When Love Shall Call,” Miss E. Smith; “Palm Trees,” Miss D. Gladdish; “Tommy Lad,” Mr. Cowdy; humorous songs, “Somebody pushed me” and “Bertie in Love,” Mr. P. Collier; monologues, “I ain’t half a lucky kid” and “The Sad Flirt,” Mrs. P. Collier.

The Cub pack, under Miss Scott, gave an action song, entitled “Ten Little Nigger Boys,” and the 1st Sidcup Girl Guides gave an effective exhibition of national dances representative of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, together with a similar selection of national songs.
