Entertainment Notes.

A variety concert was presented at the Village Hall, Orpington, by the Railwaymen’s Band on Thursday, Mar. 11th, before a very meagre audience. The Band, under Mr. J. H. Chantler, performed splendidly, and some excellent cornet soli were provide d by Mr. Smith.

A varied programme included songs by Mr. Howard Sudds, Mr. W. Lawrence, Miss Winifred Gilbert, Miss Staples, Mr. George Chapman (in his “soprano” voice), Mrs. Jelf, and “humour” by “Gussy.” Recitations by Miss Collier and Mr. W. Eldridge were well received.
